Where does the good go

Be a Republican, Be a Republican, Be a Republican

Senator sorry for links to DC Madam

WASHINGTON (AP) — Sen. David Vitter, R-Louisiana, apologized Monday night for “a very serious sin in my past” after his telephone number appeared among those associated with an escort service operated by the so-called “D.C. Madam.”

Had he only gotten some stupid party girl drunk, boned her on a deserted stretch of road, driven her off a bridge, and gone home to sober up. Then he could stand in the good graces of Dawn.

  2. Chugarte Says:

A Ted Kennedy joke in 2007? How au courant. A slam on Mary Jo Kopechne? How totally fucking low class.

  3. ken Says:

Yeah Chugarte, much lower class than, you know, drowning her.

Dawn, don’t worry, I’m sure there’ll be plenty of Democratic names in that little book. But you missed the best part of the story, in which Vitter’s lawyer was caught off guard by the news and said, “I’m stunned that someone would be apologizing for this already.”

  4. Chugarte Says:

I called him a hack and a scumbag. Which is the part that you disagree with. I’m guessing neither.

  5. Casca Says:

You are sooooo right, I should have gone with something you’d be more familiar with like boning the babysitter ala Michael, or stains on blue dresses, or biting Kathleen Wiley’s lip in attempted rape, or running a gay prostitution service out of a townhouse, or being the last seated klansman in the senate… but one could go on all night. Among Republicans these acts are considered bad behavior, among Democrats they are articles of faith.

Now who is a hack and a scumbag, Vetter or myself? I should think neither. I’m sure he paid the girl.

  6. Chugarte Says:

I couldn’t care less about Vetter. I feel kind of bad for the guy. Poor dude just needed some lovin’.

  7. Eric Says:

This is one of the guys who was calling on Clinton to resign after the Lewinsky thing. So he makes an apology and it all goes away? I think not.

  8. Gib Says:

Prior to Clinton, he thought a guy who got caught doing that needed to resign. After Clinton, he learned if you’re just really sorry, it’s all good.

    It’s not hypocrisy. It’s learning.

  9. Chugarte Says:

I’m happy to see that he’s learning on Giuliani’s dime.

  10. Eric Says:

I’m happy to see that he’s learning on Giuliani’s dime.

Then he’s learning from the master.

  11. Eric Says:

    Vitter’s wife in 2000:

“I’m a lot more like Lorena Bobbitt than Hillary,” she said. “If he does something like that, I’m walking away with one thing, and it’s not alimony, trust me.”

    Dude, sleep on your stomach!
