Whenever I see a sign like this I really struggle with the impulse to walk right up to the window with an Amex and say ‘can I pay with a credit card?’
I’m loving this campaign for the I hate Sarah Marshall movie. I also like the “my mother always hated you Sarah Marshall” one. Pearatty says the movie is not exactly the life affirming ‘fuck you’ movie that I’m looking for…but the ad campaigns make me smile. I also love the Spike TV campaign for the April Star Wars marathon. They had this one ad that was like “A boy can only be called ‘Annie’ for so long before he snaps.”
I was in outer Brooklyn yesterday and saw this sign in the window of a restuarant.
Of course, I went inside.
And this is how their meals were advertised:
Now, first off, I’m fairly sure rhatid is a pretty nasty curse in Patois…kinda like sasat in Russian. But second, wow…does anyone who hasn’t had significant exposure to Island folk even understand this sentence?

I’m not even going to begin to tell you how many hours I have spent looking for Haagan Daaz’s strawberry cheesecake ice cream.
I’m just not. Because then you’ll think I’m a pathetic loser with nothing better to do and…um…I’m just not.
But it’s not anywhere! I’ve searched two boroughs! TWO. Supermarkets, Haagan Daaz franchises, the internets! THE INTERNETS!
I even checked online and now they’re not even listing the flavor on there.
But it exists. I swear it. I saw it. Tasted it! I did. Stupid Mexico. Hmm…think if I show them a roundtrip ticket to Oakland, Jetblue will let me go back to Cancun?
I was driving behind this thing for a while yesterday and everytime we stopped at a red light I had to resist the impulse, to just accelerate my car up on it!
I wore flip flops to a wedding! It was thusly declared the best wedding ever!
