Ugh. I’m moving to Canada.
But good for her, eh.

Indeed. Until more white women start getting unjustly arrested, the cops will continue to run amok.

You know, with both this and the Harvard professor guy arrested in his own house incident, I think the race thing is serving as a distraction for the larger problem of misuse of police power.
Yes, it’s relevant that she thought they were profiling that guy, but more relevant is that the police, and the American public, seem to believe that it’s a crime to sass a police officer.
It was illegal of them to arrest her, even if she just liked to film random traffic stops out of curiousity.

Yes, but I think the race element is still prominent.

It is, but as long as people think it’s ok for the police to act that way as long as they’re not otherwise doing something wrong i.e., profiling, the police will always use that as an excuse. Like they did with the Harvard guy. Hell, they had Obama apologizing to them, because they were all “see! we’re not racist!” When the point was, they were out of line, not that they were racist. And half the country was saying “well, that guy’s an idiot, everyone knows you can’t sass a cop.” But they should have been outraged, because of course you can sass a cop.
Did you hear the part on the tape where the cop said “ok, based on what you said to me before you started filiming, I’m going to [arrest you now or something like that].” So, you know, he was going to say “eh, she was saying crap to me”. And if not for the “I was trying to protect a guy from being profiled” element, she might not be getting the approbation she is right now.

Oh, you know what I mean. A comment on the internet doesn’t really mean anything unless it comes from a complete stranger.

There is no one stranger than me! #Hmph
