    You know, sad to say, I think there are a lot of takers who sleep just fine.

    And, honestly, I am a giver, and I sleep like hell many nights.

    It doesn’t mean the givers necessarily won’t sleep well; it just means you can’t spend too much time thinking about the takers.

    You know, I think I’m a taker by nature. I was in my 30′s before I learned to be grateful for what others did for me, and to think about what I could do for others without them asking. I work hard now to be a good friend/relative in terms of thinking about what they need, but it doesn’t come naturally, and I often fail.

    And now that I think of it, I sleep better now than I ever did in my 20′s. So maybe Marlo is right.

    Or, you know, maybe getting that sleep apnea treated had something to do with it.

    Yeah, dude. There is NO WAY IN HELL you were a taker at any point in our friendship. I know takers and blind girls dont move into their apartments.

    Also, I just liked the quote…it wasnt necessarily appropos of anything. Actually, I don’t think I am a taker or a giver, in particular. I am very conscientious about taking/giving though and do my best to mirror back whichever one I’m dealing with. So whether I sleep well or not just depends on whether I am being fair and not being a bully or a sucker.

    Marlo lives in my parents bldg and I ride the elevator extra hoping to run into her of Phil. No such luck. Yet. Free to Be You and Me… she’s awesome.
