John Stamos to join cast of Glee
BOOOOOOO! BOOOOO! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Don’t they understand that, except for Sue Sylvester and *maybe* Will Shuster, we don’t give a flying fig about the adults in the Mckinley universe?? (Although, how hilarious would it be if Taye Diggs played one of Rachel’s gay dads?) John Stamos is a casting fail. Plus, he’s not even coming in as a teacher?
Eyeroll.
BRING IN ZAC EFRON!!!!
June 11th, 2010 at 9:00 am
Why is this wrong? The whole show seems like (I’ve never watched, don’t want to) a campy mess, so casting Stamos seems right to me.
June 11th, 2010 at 9:28 am
SHUT! UP! You’ve never seen it?? You would like it!!! Watch like the “Single Ladies” episode!! Do you watch Community, BTW?
June 11th, 2010 at 9:53 am
But, he drummed for The Beach Boys. So umm… yah, it’s all Beach Boys all the time next season!
Also… umm.. what about Kristen Chenoweth? Are you saying you didn’t care about her when she was on? She’s an adult you know!
But if you don’t like the Stamos, I suggest two things to watch: I Am Stamos (good luck finding that one – oh wait, the Googles has it), and the finale of Clone High.
June 11th, 2010 at 10:24 am
I LOVE KRISTEN! I want her to have her own show where she just sings songs that I call out from my couch! It’d be awesome. So, ok, there are two exceptions…and I didn’t hate Idina…so maybe 3 exceptions.
It’s not that I don’t like John stamos, he was Blackie on General Hospital when I was a kid and I loved him! But now he’s old and was dumped by Jerry O’Connell’s wife and I’d rather see Zac Efron. I mean, JERRY O’CONNELL?! He was the fat kid!
June 11th, 2010 at 10:44 am
I tried to watch Community once. Verdict: dumb.
June 11th, 2010 at 10:45 am
p.s. This is all part of my (arguably irrational and unfounded) displeasure with certain silly comedies. [See also: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, all Apatow related comedies, etc]

Hahaha Community had one episode that may have been the greatest 23 minutes of comedy ever aired. And I LOVED Arrested Development!
June 11th, 2010 at 11:30 am
Love Community. Also OK with John Stamos.
Zac Effron probably shoots early. Inane comment of the day.
June 11th, 2010 at 11:39 am
Which episode of Community?
June 11th, 2010 at 11:40 am
Did you see that Mr. P left an inane comment on my guest post? He didn’t even know it was ICF!
June 11th, 2010 at 11:40 am
Arrested Development was okay. What is the good Community episode? And you never answered my question why Stamos is a bad casting choice.
Tae wins for best comment of the day. Did anyone else watch the MTV movie awards? When they had Zac and Vanessa on the Kiss Cam, he looked like he was going to barf if he had to kiss her!
June 11th, 2010 at 11:57 am
Kurt’s dad is an interesting adult.
June 11th, 2010 at 12:09 pm
YES!! He TOTALLY didn’t want to kiss her! That harpy is blackmailing him into staying with her somehow…
June 11th, 2010 at 12:10 pm
@angela The penultimate episode of Season 1. The paintball episode. #Genius
@pearatty No! I didn’t see his comment. What name did he use…gotta go look.
June 11th, 2010 at 12:37 pm
Ooh, Gib’s totally right — Kurt’s Dad is great.
Also, anyone else totally skeeved out by Kurt? I mean, we’re supposed to give him a pass on his sexual harassment of Finn because he’s gay? Just for a moment, imagine Finn’s a girl who’s not interested in Kurt, and Kurt’s a straight guy. Straight guy hits on girl all school year long. Although she tries to be nice about it, she is really clear she’s NOT interested. Then straight guy manipualates their parents into a relationship so the two kids will have to SHARE A ROOM? While the straight guy continues to practically lick his lips everytime he looks at the girl? And Finn is the bad guy for freaking out?
Yes, fine, Finn shouldn’t have said “f*ggy”, but there should have been apologies all around at the end of the Gaga episode, not just Finn “seeing the light” that it’s ok for Kurt to be Kurt.
You know, same scenario works if Finn’s a gay guy, but just not interested in Kurt. Whatever, Kurt’s creepy, and the producers are trying to make us feel like we’re homophobic for feeling creeped out.
June 11th, 2010 at 1:06 pm
I like Kurt.
June 11th, 2010 at 1:22 pm
Exactly what Pearatty said about Kurt. That whole scene irked me so much.
He is so skeevy with Finn and that whole “f*ggy” name calling – Finn is wrong, but everyone says hurtful words when pushed to that level, he shouldn’t have said it but Kurt was incredibly frustrating, annoying, and yes, sexually harassing Finn. Ugh. Hated that scene.
June 11th, 2010 at 1:23 pm
I like Kurt too. And love the relationship he has with his dad.
June 11th, 2010 at 1:37 pm
@pearatty
I guess the way I see it, Kurt’s a kid and he wears his heart on his sleeve. He’s not going to hurt Finn. Heck, Rachel was the same way with Finn and now he loves her! Maybe outside a HS context, I’d feel differently…but I can’t hate on a 15 year old with a crush.
June 11th, 2010 at 1:41 pm
Speaking of gayness. This made me gay…in the happy sense.

I don’t think Rachel had the same intensity as Kurt did when it came to Finn. My favorite episode is still “Single Ladies” and I liked Kurt before the whole “you must love me and completely accept me for who I am, even if it makes you uncomfortable in your own house, in the room you have to share with me” bit. Kurt was completely selfish and instead of being told you are “acting like a dick,” he got “it’s okay to be gay” speech. Finn wasn’t never mean to Kurt because of his sexuality until he was pushed against the wall and while it doesn’t justify Finn’s behavior, it doesn’t make Kurt look good either. And the episode just sided with Kurt, without at all giving Finn his dues.
I kind of dislike Rachel too. I like Quinn though.
June 11th, 2010 at 2:05 pm
Quinn has no balls.
June 11th, 2010 at 2:07 pm
Tae, awesome link I had to laugh at the Kenny Loggins cover! I’m totally gay for that link! #huzzah
June 11th, 2010 at 2:08 pm
He’s not going to hurt Finn.
I disagree. I think it is hurting someone to put them in a position where they can’t be comfortable changing clothes in their own room.
Heck, Rachel was the same way with Finn and now he loves her!
Rachel wasn’t nearly as manipulative as Kurt.
Maybe outside a HS context, I’d feel differently
I’d be fine with the story line if it were presented as: “this is high school where everybody’s still figuring themselves out, so obviously Kurt has a lesson to learn that it’s not ok to manipulate people, or force yourself onto people, and Finn has a lesson to learn that it’s ok to be different/gay.” But the first part of that story line, i.e., what Kurt has to learn, isn’t there. (I get that what the writers think Kurt has to learn, if anything, is that it’s pointless and will only bring pain to hit on straight guys. A good and valid lesson, but not the main issue here.)
Other than this story line, I still don’t really like Kurt. So whiny. I’d like to see his character developed by having more gay characters on the show for him to have relationships with.

Oh, x-posted with PDov — yes, what she said.
June 11th, 2010 at 2:18 pm
Rachel tricked Finn into “rehearsing” with her and then showed up in that trashy Olivia Newton John outfit!
I do like Rachel’s unadulterated ambition though. You rarely see female characters like that get what they want.
I agree with Tae re: Quinn. Blech.
Don’t mind the slutty gay cheerleaders though. Hate the wheelchair kid, the black girl and sometimes the Asian girl.
June 11th, 2010 at 2:22 pm
Pdov, the Loggins one was my favorite too!
June 11th, 2010 at 2:25 pm

It’s not pedo when the actors are like 40 years old.
