Farcical was the first word that came to my mind when I saw the news — I know very few people take the peace prize seriously anymore, but it’s a little premature to start awarding Obama prizes

Being the nerd that I am… the first thing I thought this morning upon hearing this news was: “What will polls say?” It just seems like 90% of people I know (mostly liberal Democrats) think this is odd.

Yep. It’s weird. At least his acceptance speech acknowledged it not as a prize for accomplishments, but for a call to action.
