Hey that was MY Idea…
When I was stranded in nowhere Vegas, updating my facebook about my impending murder victim status, I decided that I thought facebook and myspace should be patroled by the police, who could come save anyone whose status update was “about to be murdered” or “about to be kidnapped.”
Well, turns out this “good samaritan” had the same idea:
Tonight, as I’ve done in the past, as other parents have done in many ways, I asked if it was ok to smother her.
Which, if you know me, or anyone with my sense of black humor, is a joke born of frustration, annoyance, and yes, LOVE.
Tonight this woman, who I foolishly followed on Twitter, who likely doesn’t even know me, had someone in LA call the cops.
ON ME.
I just had to prove that my fucking daughter was all right because some “person†who has never met me, barely exchanged any words with me, couldn’t stop for a minute and think, gee, perhaps she’s like many other mothers, annoyed at bedtime. She couldn’t stop and think, hmmm, an email might suffice.
via Karol, who despite any threats by me in the past, is in no danger whatsoever from me. Plus, when I say “bash her face in,” what I meant was “bake her a cake in”…I was typing on the smartphone and you know how those things are.

No sympathy for twitter mom. You send out comments to people you barely know, they’re perfectly entitled not to know if your joking, and to err on the side of caution.
