As far as Benson's comment, most newspapers are owned by conglomerates. I happen to work for the internet arm of one of those conglomerates, Advance Publications. Most of our papers get the same news from the same places - there's not much in the way of independent news anymore. Even some of our local stuff is farmed. However, I guarantee you that our editors are working independently - it would make my life a lot easier if they weren't (note: easier, not appropriate). Conglomerates tend to buy up like-minded publications. I don't think that means the editors opinions are any less credible. Yeah, yeah I know.

Actually, ADN is part of the whole thing. It's owned by McClatchy. McClatchy owns multiple other papers that have backed Obama. Incidentally, ADN also endorsed Kerry back in 2004.
