As far as Benson&#039;s comment, most newspapers are owned by conglomerates. I happen to work for the internet arm of one of those conglomerates, Advance Publications. Most of our papers get the same news from the same places - there&#039;s not much in the way of independent news anymore. Even some of our local stuff is farmed. However, I guarantee you that our editors are working independently - it would make my life a lot easier if they weren&#039;t (note: easier, not appropriate). 

Conglomerates tend to buy up like-minded publications. Heck, look where McClatchy&#039;s newspapers are located:

Of course a lot of them (if not all) endorse Obama. 

I don&#039;t think that means the editors opinions are any less credible.</description>
