Technology is so crazy. A friend of mine from college posted this clip from the Tony awards on his facebook page. It is almost thirty years old. It stars Jennifer Holliday as Effie (the role for which Jennifer Hudson won the Oscar two years ago). This was my favorite song in the movie, I think the scene here is even better though. And dyam, check out stick thin Loretta Divine, who is most known as “the fat one” in Waiting to Exhale.

And I’m proud to say my second cousin wrote the, what do they call the screenplay for a broadway musical? Do they say she wrote “the play?”
