Why do you assume that, terry? They had kids, for God’s sake. If I were a woman and my husband gave me kids (plural), I’d figure he’s probably not gay.
Granted, lots of them are wrong. But how is it she’d have to know? He might have suppressed it for some number of years, or just been really, really careful.
Also, sometimes it’s just hard to believe things, because you don’t want to. My last girlfriend cheated on me very early in the relationship. It was obvious in retrospect, but at the time it was impossible to contemplate. It may be that she would have known if she was a dispassionate observer, but she was his wife.
