Time for the U.N. to step in

Last year we found this out about D.C.…now THIS:

About one-third of the people living in the national’s capital are functionally illiterate, compared with about one-fifth nationally, according to a report on the District of Columbia.

Our nation’s capital is apparently in Africa.

Considering that most governmental positions, including Head Principal positions at DC elementary schools, are politically awarded instead of having people with the proper skills and abilities running things, I’m not surprised in the least.

Hell, in order to do anything government-wise in DC, like pass a budget or a law, Congress has to submit a bill and it has to pass (even though DC has no Congressional representation).

    Nice place, innit?

What did you expect from a city that elects Marion Barry as its mayor?

I’d love to comment, but I am currently in my office in DC, and cannot read the post.

TWICE! The second time after he’s caught smoking crack with hookers and says “bitch set me up!” when caught! TWICE!

  6. Mark Says:

Actually Karol, he was elected FOUR TIMES.

Statehood, YES! I can’t wait to see Marion Berry in the Senate, him and a guy with a bone in his nose.

Instead of sending in the U.N., maybe we should send in some Republicans, no? After all, the crack-swilling, gun-controlling, union-supporting Democrats have had their turn trying to “fix” the place for long enough.

The last time I was lost in DC was the scariest time of my life and I used to live on Church Avenue in Brooklyn in the 80’s. People should be require to show that they work in some capacity for the Federal Government to be allow to live in DC.
