Where does the good go

Lazy blogging

I’m trying to put together an inspirational playlist…or a playlist of inspirational songs, more accurately.
So far I’ve got
Don’t rain on my parade -streisand
I believe I can fly – R.
Greatest Love of All -houston
Star Spangled Banner – houston
Find Your Grail -spamalot
I made it through the rain -manilow
Any other suggestions?

Please, oh lord, this holiday season grant me this: let me not be in the car when she decides to give the inspirational playlist a whirl.

  2. Ari Says:

    Crazy – P. Cline

It ought to be your theme song.

  3. Michael Bates Says:

“Happy Days Are Here Again,” “High Hopes” — those were campaign theme songs for FDR and JFK respectively. I’m surprised you didn’t come up with those. Oh, and “Don’t Stop Thinkin’ about Tomorrow” — Slick Willy’s tune. (If you really want to torment Karol.) Then there’s the “Tomorrow” from Annie. “New York, New York,” “My Way,” by Sinatra.

  4. annika Says:

    what, no clay aiken?

  5. Dawn Summers Says:

ooh, yes! clay does have a good one…no two! and michael, i came up with ny, ny and my way on the car ride home, very good ones. I haven’t heard the first two you mentioned, but i will check them out.

  6. Dawn Summers Says:

there’s no such thing as an inspirational patsy cline song. come on now. suicide playlist maybe

  7. Gertie Says:

Ha ha, Karol made me laugh. I concur I wouldn’t want to be in that car. You should add Girl Put Your Records On by Corinne Rae somethin. You know, something MODERN.

  8. Ari Says:

    Nothing says Dawn like “crazy”.

  9. Pokerwolf Says:

    “Don’t Stop Believin'” – Journey

    “Broken Wings” – Mr. Mister

“Eye of the Tiger” – Survivor

“Do Whatcha Like” – Digital Underground

I’ll try to come up with some others, if you want.

  10. Dawn Summers Says:

ooh, eye of the tiger! good one! yes, definitely the more the merrier, trying to get up an unbeatable playlist to listen through tourneys with.

  11. Gib Says:

    “Tubthumping” – Chumbawamba

“Someday I’ll be Saturday Night” – Bon Jovi

    “Lose Yourself” – Eminem

    “Dream On” – Aerosmith

    “The Greatest” – Kenny Rogers

“We’re Not Gonna Take It” – Twisted Sister

    I’m inspired already.

  12. Dawn Summers Says:

YES! Tubthumping!!!!! I can’t believe I didn’t think of that one!! Awesome. This is the best most inspiring thread EVER!

  13. Binda Says:

Gloria Estefan – Coming Out of the Dark

Gloria Estefan – Reach (Olympic Song)

  14. Dawn Summers Says:

hmm and whitney had a special olympics song that i recall was pretty uplifting…

  15. Alceste Says:

Note to self: get car fixed before Thursday…

  16. Binda Says:

oooh oooh – Prep Commencement Songs

    Lean on Me

I Can See Clearly Now – The Rain Has Gone

  17. Dawn Summers Says:

mmm…lean on me is too depressing…the other one, maybe, i can’t think of the rest of words…

  18. Binda Says:

    The wonders of Google

  19. Casca Says:

Against the Wind, & Survive (I prefer the Cake version over Donna Summer).

  20. tito Says:

Casca: Is it possible you’re thinking of “I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor?

Also, add Simple Minds’ “Alive And Kicking.”

  21. kaz Says:

heh. sort of a different angle, but how about billy bragg’s great leap forward?

  22. Ari Says:

I Can Take You Higher – The Game
