R.I.P.

Peter Boyle , the tall, prematurely bald actor who was the tap-dancing monster in “Young Frankenstein” and the curmudgeonly father in the long-running sitcom “Everybody Loves Raymond,” has died. He was 71.

Karol and I were just talking about how we loved that show.

Also, I was lost in Central Park one afternoon a few years ago and Boyle and his wife gave me directions to the street. Of course, once I realized that I had randomly stopped a television star to ask directions, i was too star struck to listen and ended up asking someone else for directions once I had gotten myself all loster.

He was a nice guy.

Condolences to his family and all those who were holding out hope for a Frank and Marie spinoff.

I too was sadden by this news. I’ve never seen “Everybody Loves Raymond” - Peter Boyle will always be the monster in “Young Frankenstein” to me. I cannot hear the song “Puttin’ on the Ritz” without thinking of him.
