Very disappointed this list isn’t longer and doesn’t include either of my Senate representatives. Punks.

Evan Bayh is a surprise.
January 26th, 2005 at 9:46 pm
I don’t know, I think he plans to run for President.
January 26th, 2005 at 9:53 pm
Funny - I think Clinton voted for Rice for the exact same reason.
January 26th, 2005 at 9:59 pm
I think you’re right, but she has the opposite perception problem that Bayh might think he has. But I assure you, Clinton will have to answer for this vote.
January 26th, 2005 at 11:57 pm
I’ll put money on the fact that she won’t have to answer for it and neither will Bayh. Can you remember who did or didn’t vote for Clinton’s nominees?
January 27th, 2005 at 12:34 am
no, but dole had more obvious liabilities and bush was an outsider. I warn you though, if we put money on it, I will personally make it my mission that Clinton answer for it. I will write letters.

If Clinton’s nominated, she’ll face the EXACT SAME PROBLEMS Kerry had. She voted for the war, so she can’t argue against it, she voted for the patriot act… We need someone who isn’t coming from the Senate, because they either have these inherent contradictions, or they’re percieved as leftist obstructionists.
Anyone know any good governors?

Glad to see you can include Robert Byrd in your profiles in courage. Too bad Strom Thurmond’s not around anymore. I’m sure he would have made the list as well.
And perhaps Hillary voted yes because a) she’s serious about national security and b) she’s politically smarter than these other idjits.
Schumer’s just an assclown no matter how you slice it.
January 27th, 2005 at 2:48 pm
Hey, if Dawn is willing to work to sink Hillary’s Presidential bid, there’s nothing for the rest of us to say but “Godspeed.”
January 27th, 2005 at 5:52 pm
This is a much better reason, politically speaking, than an eye on ‘08:
Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) took her opposition to Condoleezza Rice to a new front: She has used it in a fundraising pitch to Democratic donors.
The pitch went out Tuesday evening. On behalf of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, Boxer referred to Rice’s “misleading statements leading up to the war in Iraq and beyond,” and implored donors to “put the brakes on four more years of misdirection in Iraq and reckless policies at home” by helping elect more Democrats next year.
January 27th, 2005 at 5:57 pm
If Boxer sent this pitch in 3 years, she would get a zero response rate. People just don’t care about things for that long. Can you remember who voted for or against Ashcroft?
January 27th, 2005 at 7:24 pm
yes, actually I do.
January 27th, 2005 at 7:30 pm
Did you see Amy Poehler’s portrayal of Sen. Boxer on SNL this week? Fantastic!!!
January 27th, 2005 at 7:34 pm
So who are they Dawn (no cheating)?
January 27th, 2005 at 11:25 pm
Princess Anon- Amy Poehler presenting the number 0 (the # of WMDs found) as evidence against Condi Rice was hilarious.
Karol- I don’t know how many people remember who voted against Ashcroft in 2000, but I do know that my senators voted against him, because I sent them letters of thanks. I didn’t get a response… it seems like in Washington they only write back if it’s a complaint. (I wrote to Sen. Moynihan in 1998 concerning the treatment of women in Afghanistan and got a nice letter back.)
no Obama on that list? wtf?
