Judge orders attorney to continue working with client who attacked her co-counsel. After being jailed for contempt when she refused, an appeals court upheld the trial court’s ruling.

Hmmm…either let the lawyer off the case and the guy gets a whole new trial, or have him defended by a lawyer who’s terrified of him, and then when he gets the death penalty, has a perfect issue for appeal.
(Note - the above is emphatically not an endorsement of punching defense counsel in the face. I don’t get to punch them in the face, you don’t get to punch them in the face.)
