NEW YORK TO ALLOW GAY MARRIAGES TOO
With the attention focussed on San Fran and Massachusetts (even New Mexico, for goodness sakes!) I was beginning to feel all left out, here in the Big Apple.
But now the mayor of New Paltz has brought the attention back home! He promises to wed four same sex couples within the month.

And unlike the SF mayor’s rather brazen disregard of the law, there’s a decent chance same-sex marraige is arlready legal here in NY (nothing in starte law defines marriage as between a man and a woman). There’s no way the NY Assembly ever outlaws same sex marriage. Then again, there’s no chance the NY Senate ever makes a law permitting. It’ll be interesting to see what happens.
