Hell, my spending has more than tripled since yesterday, but don't apply for that mortagage just yet. Today I had to buy my lunch whereas yesterday I had it at home. Second, trickle-down is a real good theory except for the small issue of proportions. Give a 50 gallon drum of water to one guy, and then wait to see how long the 100 parched persons on the verge of dehydration are willing to wait for his use of it to create enough a "trickle" to slake their thirst. Saw an news report on India a few months ago that said by 2012 there will not be enough natural water in the country just to satisfy the drinking needs of the country, never mind farming, cooking, washing, etc. 100 bliion people, water for half of 'em.
